
Patricia Soriano Oxford is an artist, writer, and entrepreneur. She hails from the Tarheel State, born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC. She graduated with Honors from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelors in English Literature and Creative Writing.
Thereafter, she attended Spelman College’s Portobelo Artist Colony in Portobelo, Panama. As an Artist-in-Residence at Taller Portobelo, she worked with local artist and poets to produce to major exhibitions: GlobalWorks EarthWorks, a land art collaboration in Portobelo, and GlobalExchange, a literary reading at the Cultural Center in Panama City.
She moved to San Francisco in 2004 to work for Yahoo!Inc. During this time, Patricia took classes at San Francisco Art Institute, California College of the Arts, and City College to develop her work.
She later moved to San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua to teach Art classes at The Women’s Collective. While in Central America, she also taught English and Yoga classes to the community and attempted to learn to surf. In the fall of 2007, Patricia returned to San Francisco to pursue her MFA at California College of the Arts.
It was during her time in graduate school when Patricia and Clayton reconnected. He was on his way to the Philippines and as he puts it, “needed a couch to crash on” in California. Clayton and Patricia had attended grade school together.
After graduating and getting married, Patricia and Clayton joined creative minds and moved the business to their home state of North Carolina. They now live and work in Durham. Their offices are at Golden Belt studios, a renovated textile factory that is LEED certified.
